This 'introduction to programming' course covers TWO achievement standards, totalling 10 credits. For the standards, you learn some basic programming, then use this to programme a robot (self-driving buggy).
There are three parts: Part 1 is learning the approach to programming (how to plan your program), Part 2 is building a program (using Scratch software), and Part 3 is programming the robot to complete a task (you will do some trial and error).
Unlike a ‘traditional’ exam, you won’t be sitting a test at the end of your learning. Instead, you will work on the project over a period of time and submit your project at the end. It’s the digital equivalent of having a two-week technology project at school, where you enter and leave your classroom each day. At the end of your project, you'll submit your work (videos of your robot, your planning documents, and evidence of your trial and error process) for marking.
