Kickstart your year by beta testing our internals! Sit a real NCEA internal, for real credits, at no cost. We'll pay you $50 for your feedback and you'll have bragging rights as the first person in NZ to take this internal online. Disclaimer: Due to the time it takes for your credits to be processed, this is not recommended for those seeking NCEA credits for 2019 University Entrance, or for other deadlines. Please also note that you will only have two weeks to complete the one or two internals that you select. You must have logged in or registered to test an internal. Internals Internals looking like this already have enough testers and are no longer available. This is the first time anyone in New Zealand has released internals online, so we want to make sure it’s the best possible experience for you and other students! Your thoughts and feedback are extremely important to us. What’s expected of me? To make sure that we collect accurate feedback, you need to make sure that you give this a decent attempt. This is what the process looks like: 1. A short introductory call with you once you have signed up, to walk you through the process. (We will be available for communication throughout the internal if you have any questions or queries). 2. You will provide a rating and optional feedback for each teaching video as you move through the internal. 3. At the end of the process, we will have a catch-up call to follow up about how the internal went for you, and gather some feedback. How is this different from a regular internal? These internals are exactly the same as a regular internal you would sit at school, except online. You still achieve real credits, and anything you sit will be registered exactly the same as any internals you sit in school. What’s in it for me? - A free online internal worth real credits. -$50 cash.
- Bragging rights to be the first ever person to sit our online internals.

How long will this take me?

By NZQA standards, an internal will take you roughly 3-4 hours per day, for 2 weeks.

When will I get my results?

Due to the nature of these internals being in a ‘beta’ stage, these credits will not be registered until the Ministry of Education signs them off. When they do, you will be the first to get your credits processed. Therefore, if you are dependent on getting credits ASAP for University Entrance or any other reason and have signe, we recommend not testing an internal.

What is a beta tester?

A beta tester is someone who tests a product (in this case, our intenals) to see if anything needs to be changed, before it is rolled out to students all across New Zealand. The internals have already been tested by our team, but we need real students’ opinions to make sure that the internals are student-friendly.

FAQs for online internals

Do credits count towards University entrance? Or Merit and Excellence endorsements?

Yes. These are identical to credits you would receive from your school. They are added to your NZQA Record of Learning and will contribute to all qualifications and endorsements.

Yes. You can increase the grades of an assessment you have previously taken at school. Alternatively, you can purchase an internal assessment again and re-take an assessment on this website. Note: we will never lower your grade if you take an assessment.

What if my school is (or is not) running this internal?

It does not matter what internal assessments your school is (or is not) running. This is completed independent of your school. If your school is running the assessment, this is a chance to increase your grade or get ahead. If your school is not running the internal, this is a chance to gain additional credits that you wouldn’t normally have.

Can I resit internals?

Yes. You can re-purchase any internal and try a second time to increase your grades.

Do I have to involve my school?

No. This is run independently of your school.

How do we stop cheating?

Students must be under exam conditions when taking an NCEA assessment. A virtual supervisor monitors every test on offer. In addition, we use more than a dozen techniques and technologies to track student behaviour. This includes video and audio tracking, facial recognition and screen monitoring.

All assessments, grading and moderation are carried out by The Learning Place Limited. The Learning Place Limited is a New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) Registered Private Training Establishment under the provisions of the Education Act 1989 and its subsequent amendments. Head Office: 33 Princes Street, Dunedin. Phone: 03 477 7770.
